Verification method
How AmanahGive verifies charities
Every label on AmanahGive is backed by evidence we can point to. If we can’t confirm something, we say so rather than guess.
1. Official registration
We match each charity to its record on an official government register or charity regulator — for example the Charity Commission for England and Wales, the Canada Revenue Agency or the US Internal Revenue Service. We store the legal name, the regulator, the registration number and a link to the official record or register.
Registration shows legal status. It is not a government endorsement or a quality rating.
2. Muslim identity
We confirm from the organization’s own mission, values, history or governing document that it operates as a Muslim charity. A name, logo or reputation alone is never enough.
3. Giving types
Zakat, Sadaqah, Sadaqah Jariyah, Qurban/Udhiyah, Fidyah, Kaffarah and Waqf are each tracked separately. A type is marked confirmed only when the charity itself states that it runs that programme. “Not yet confirmed” means our evidence is incomplete — not that the charity doesn’t offer it.
Donation links
We link only to a charity’s official website or giving page. Before you leave AmanahGive we show the exact web address so you can check it. AmanahGive never receives or handles your donation.
Keeping records current
Every record shows when it was last reviewed. Links, registrations and seasonal programmes such as Qurban change, so records are rechecked regularly, and any report from a visitor triggers a recheck before anything public is changed. Report outdated or suspicious information.
What AmanahGive is not
We are not a regulator, a rating agency or a Sharia authority, and a listing is not a fatwa or a guarantee of a charity’s future conduct. For personal religious rulings — such as whether a specific payment counts as your Zakat — please consult a qualified scholar.
